Lee Gannon was a graduate of the Eastman School of Music who was an accomplished performer on recorder and flute. He won several composition prizes, including an honorable mention for his Sonatine for Three Alto Recorders in the Erich Katz Composition Competition in 1987, the 1988 Louis Lane Award, and the Charles Ives Prize given by the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He passed away in 1996 Nashville, TN.
