Second Level Beginners' Class with Jennifer Carpenter (Soprano/Tenor)
9/23/2024 - 10/3/2024 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM EST
Event Description
Tone and Phrasing (Soprano/Tenor) with Jennifer Carpenter
If you’ve taken an ARS Beginners’ class for soprano/tenor and are ready for the next step, this 2nd-level class is for you. The soprano gets a bad reputation for sounding shrill and squeaky! But the soprano (and tenor) is capable of being a beautiful solo instrument as well as an ensemble companion. This 4-session course will focus on sound/tone production and expressive phrasing. Conquer your fears of playing high notes and learn how expressive the soprano/tenor can be!
Attendees are expected to be able to play low C to high G (octave and a 5th including F#s and Bbs) and read those notes and general rhythmic patterns on the music staff. All music will be provided. You don’t need to be confident, just familiar with these skills - we’ll work on improving them further.
