The beautiful sound of two basses in harmony is always a welcome sonority. “Faded Memories” has no Soprano and luxuriates in lower tones and introspection without regret, while “Opus 88” is bright and crisp, with the Soprano providing an extroverted burst of joyful energy. These two simple pieces reflect opposites of timbre and mood, but all playing levels will find them equally approachable.
