The rondo-like return of the main theme, with slight rhythmic variations at each new appearance, brings structure to this flowing “lullaby-fantasia”. Its unstable tonality imparts an enjoyable sense of the Romantic style, and earned it a tie for First Prize in the 2007 ARS Chicago Chapter Biennial Recorder Composition Contest.
