Named for Dick's daughter Mia, who once referred to herself as "Minna Mia." This piece "more or less follows the rag definition -- three or four separate melodies, a key change, two-four tempo, melody played by the right hand, supported by the tenors and bass … on the left hand."
Note that the figure in the alto line in measure 5 (and similar measures throughout the piece) has a dotted eighth note beamed to an eighth note (not a 16th note), followed by three sixteenth notes.
