Written in memory of the composer's Mother. The first movement, "Comma, Comma, in the sky," sets the reverie-like forlorn and wistful tone of the piece. Movement two,"Rondo," is the centerpiece of the musical altarpiece with a one-measure ostinato in two voices among three players that continues through the movement like a canon with variations. The third movement is a recapitulation of the first developing the "rainbow" idea suggested in the "Rondo."
