3 More Contorted Carols
By Anthony St. Pierre December 2021

These three familiar but slightly "warped" Christmas carols complement the sets of '6 Contorted Yule Carols', '3 Convoluted Carols,' and '3 Contorted Yule Carols.' Featured here are: 'No Way Nowell' ('The First Nowell'), 'Hark, the Hammered Angels Sing' (Hark, the Herald Angels Sing'), and 'A Midnight Blear' ('It Came Upon a Midnight Clear').

These three little soprano-alto duo versions of Christmas standards start from Warped and move through Weird to Whacky. The traditional melodies are clear in each piece, but the harmonic and rhythmic distortions add fun new surprises. Some high notes in the soprano and fast fingers in “No Way Nowell” might bump the difficulty rating to “moderate”, but overall they are “easy” and will provide lots of entertainment to anyone who comes near. Any one of them would be a great mood-lifter in a holiday program.
