“Wizard Kogran” is a fictional character I created for an original children’s storybook. This first version of this composition was written in 2001 as a ‘landscape instrumental’ complete with bird calls for one of my CDs. The harmony here oscillates between A minor - Wizard Kogran’s castle lets in the rain - and the more cheerful Choruses in C major where he’s kept company by his pet Australian magpie and his customers in a local Magic Shop.

Fun and easy music for children with a lightly syncopated melody in the Soprano supported mostly by chords beneath. The Soprano part sits low on the instrument and fits comfortably on Alto as well. The Bass part fits on Tenor too, for an approachable piece for practice playing Tenor reading bass clef. Be sure to take in the character imagery provided by the composer, for extra enjoyment when playing your part.
