Where Are You Going

S A T B

Originally written in 1979 as a piano solo, this piece formed part of my original repertoire of background music I performed in restaurants. Arranged in 2021 for a recorder consort, this somewhat wistful and quite sectional composition has a pentatonic tune with the occasional florid passage for the soprano recorder.

An easy quasi-pop tune for SATB, this uplifting melody in Soprano is supported by a strolling backup band. Occasional commentary between verses in the Alto part, which also fits perfectly on Tenor. A great choice for beginning ensembles, and as a starting point for more advanced groups. Would also work very well expanded for larger instruments.
