Quartet for SATB Recorders

This light-hearted quartet was my answer to the dreariness of months spent writing a meditation for the organ. I hope you like it. It is technically fairly easy, although the hand offs may be problematic for some groups. I resisted the admonition to write in rests for breathing, choosing instead to rely on the players' judgement. Generally, breaths can be snuck in by shortening beat 3 as long as beat 1 of the following measure is a strong beat.

A fun and upbeat romp, this single movement piece in the easy key of one flat is very accessible to intermediate groups. The soprano part has occasional high notes including high D, but overall each part is in a comfortable range for their respective sizes. There is a good amount of banter among the parts, and some melodic solo moments for each player as well. A bright piece for the advent of Spring!
