Description:
Join the Ann Arbor Recorder Society on Feb 1, 2021 from 7:30-9pm. when Larry Lipnik will lead us in a music session with the theme: To Shorten Winter’s Sadness: Songs and Dances from Renaissance England.  Banish the winter blues and immerse yourself in a sumptuous array of English Renaissance consort music. Works in two to five parts from Court, Church, and Village Square by Weelkes, Morley, and Byrd, along with a set of Dances from the household of the Earl of Arundel at Nonsuch Palace c.1560 to round out our session. Special focus on phrasing as well as articulation in a historical context.
