Event Description
Come join us July 23-29 at the SFEMS recorder workshop! Immerse yourself in a fun-filled week of music making with classes, concerts, open mic, and opportunities for informal playing sessions! This year's workshop theme is centered around Music inspired by the Night: revel in music inspired by the eternal dance of light and darkness, from day to night and back again. Daily offerings include recorder orchestra, a wide range of technique and topic classes, an open master class, and the chance to immerse yourself in and be a part of this wonderful community of recorder players.

Our faculty include: Annette Bauer, Jennifer Carpenter, Inga Funck, Greta Haug-Hryziw, Jody Miller, Peter Maund, and Katherine Heater. The workshop is held at the lovely campus of St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA this year, which is a short drive from Berkeley, Oakland, and San Francisco, CA and easily accessible from both Oakland and San Francisco airport.

Details

This year, we’ll be hosting our Recorder Workshop on the grounds of St. Mary’s College, located in sunny Moraga in the East Bay.

We provide an option for on-site room and board at one of the university's residence suites, or at the campus's Guerreri townhouses (limited availability).

Single-occupancy and double-occupancy rooms are available. Each residency suite consists of a common area, one double room, one single room, and a shared bathroom with the adjoining suite. Each townhouse apartment consists of three double bedrooms that share a bathroom, kitchen, and living room. Linens are provided, and laundry is complimentary.

Meals will be provided by the university’s catering services at Oliver Hall.

TUITION:

Full tuition for the Recorder Workshop is $800.

Receive an early bird discount of $50 by applying before March 31.
SFEMS members in good standing at time of enrollment receive an member discount of $50. These discounts can be combined!

You don’t need to pay the full tuition upfront—secure your spot with a non-refundable deposit of $200.
All outstanding tuition must be paid by July 11, 2023; however, to receive the early bird discount, balances must be paid before March 31.

Tuition (other than the $200 non-refundable deposit) and room and board is refundable before July 11, 2023.
