Event Description
London International Festival of Early Music November 9-12, a full-blown event after the virtual offering of 2020 and the 2021 hybrid,
LIFEM22 welcomes performers, exhibitors and early music enthusiasts from the world over. Opening concert featuring The Brook Street Band; other concerts include Solomon's Knot, Charlotte Schneider, PIVA and Spanish ensemble Taracea, making their debut appearance in the UK. Festival evensong on November 12, St. Michael’s Church; for all three days, Blackheath Concert Halls will include a full array of instrument makers.
Third biennial Early Music Young Ensemble Competition with a live final on Friday, November 11, St. Margaret’s Church in Blackheath. Up to four ensemble finalists will compete in front of the adjudicators and a live audience to win the top prize: £1,500 and a recital at LIFEM 2023.
Adjudicators: Laurence Cummings (Conductor & Harpsichordist, Academy of Ancient Music), Tatty Theo (Baroque cello, The Brook Street Band) and Belén Nieto Galán (Historical Flutes, Taracea).
