Event Description
We have now arrived at the final feast of English music as Karen Epp leads us through the November monthly meeting. All are welcome, no matter how many of the previous meetings you've attended... or even if this will be your first!
From leader Karen Epp:
"From the rounds of Ravenscroft to the dances of Dowland, the music will also include works by William Byrd, Henry Purcell, Henry Eccles, and King Henry VIII. We will be making a 500 year old connection by working on an old English Folksong called The Three Ravens. First collected and arranged by Thomas Ravenscroft in the early 1600's, it was then taken up by the composer Andrew Charlton and arranged in his collection A Bouquet of Fancies."
With Karen, our meetings start with a warm up, moving smoothly to ensembles that everyone can play and learn from, gradually tackling the more challenging pieces.
