ARS introduces a Free Online Beginners’ Course for alto recorder, taught by Jody Miller! If you have never played recorder before, or if it has been eons ago since you have played, this is the course for you! Build a solid foundation for learning recorder through the American Recorder Society’s 4-part beginners’ course for alto recorder starting on August 6, 2024. Professional recorder teacher and performer Jody Miller will lead you through this course and help you build good recorder technique from the start. Jody’s background includes working with middle school through senior adults; his patient approach will help you gain the skills in tone production, articulation, and technique needed to advance to the next level. All materials will be provided except for the recorder. Participants are strongly encouraged to obtain one of the recorders listed below.
