Recorder Players West (RPW) is offering Pre-intermediate, Intermediate and Advanced classes this fall during October and November 2023.  These classes consist of 8 weekly sessions.  The Intermediate and Advanced weekly classes are 1.5 hours each and are blended classes on-line and in-person.  The Pre-intermediate weekly classes are 1 hour each and are on-line only.  The instructor (Inga Funck) is a professional recorder player and experienced teacher who always manages to make classes fun while helping each student to grow as a musician.  She exposes students to a rich body of repertoire from different centuries, styles, and countries.

Pre-Intermediate Class    Thursdays, 12 noon to 1:00 pm (class dates: October 5, 12, 19, 26, November 2, 9, 16, and 30) on-line
Intermediate Class           Wednesdays, 12 noon to 1:30 pm (class dates: October 4, 11, 18, 25, November 1, 8, 15, and 29) at St. Bede’s or on-line
Advanced Class               Wednesdays, 2:00 to 3:30 pm (class dates: October 4, 11, 18, 25, November 1, 8, 15, and 29) at St. Bede’s or on-line

RECORDER PLAYERS WEST Fall 2023 Semester -- In-person and On-line!
No matter where you are in your recorder playing journey, Recorder Players West (RPW) is the right place for you!  Are you looking to improve your skills (fingers, tongue, breath, rhythm, etc.) or to have the chance to play with others?  Whatever your goal might be, our classes cater to different skill levels, ranging from pre-intermediate to advanced.
 
This session RPW will be holding a blended on-line and in-person experience for the intermediate and advanced classes.  Yes, local people will be able to come to St. Bede’s Episcopal Church for in-person classes, and on-line people will be able to join via Zoom!  (The pre-intermediate class will remain on-line only.)  St. Bede’s Episcopal Church is at 3590 Grand View Blvd., West Los Angeles, two blocks west of the 405 freeway and one block north of Venice Blvd. at the corner of Grand View and Charnock.  There is plenty of free parking.
 
Our wonderful instructor (Inga Funck) is a professional recorder player and experienced teacher– guaranteeing a gratifying musical experience!  She always manages to make classes fun while helping each student to grow as a musician.  She exposes students to a rich body of repertoire from different centuries, styles, and countries.  Outside of Recorder Players West, she is offering private lessons as well as other classes independent of RPW.
 
Schedule and cost:  Newcomers who have not yet been to an RPW class will be given one free class before they must decide whether to join.  Please note the following class times/dates:
 
Pre-Intermediate Class   Thursdays, 12 noon to 1:00 pm (class dates: October 5, 12, 19, 26, November 2, 9, 16, and 30) on-line (NOTE:  this class is one hour only)
 
Intermediate Class          Wednesdays, 12 noon to 1:30 pm (class dates: October 4, 11, 18, 25, November 1, 8, 15, and 29) at St. Bede’s or on-line
 
Advanced Class              Wednesdays, 2:00 to 3:30 pm (class dates: October 4, 11, 18, 25, November 1, 8, 15, and 29) at St. Bede’s or on-line

The tuition for the Fall 2023 classes is $180 for the intermediate and advanced classes (or $157.50 if you are brand-new to Recorder Players West and are making use of the first free class).  For the pre-intermediate class, the tuition is $120 (or $105 for brand-new players).

Scholarships and Donations to the Scholarship Fund:  A limited number of tuition scholarships are available.  To apply, please contact Suellen Eslinger.  To donate to our tuition scholarship fund, please add the donation to your tuition check or pay by separate check.
