Event Description
Inaugural "2nd-Wind" Class for Beginner Soprano/Tenor Recorder with Annette Bauer: Designed for people with experience on another wind instrument and those who read music already, this class is specific for those who are just transitioning to soprano/tenor recorder from another instrument. If you are familiar with playing a wind instrument and can read music, but new to recorders, come join Annette Bauer as she helps you understand what makes the recorder unique among the world of wind instruments. Those transitioning from alto recorder are also welcome to attend.
Wednesdays, October 21, 28, Nov 4, and 11 at 12 PM (Noon) ET (11 AM, CT; 10 AM, MT; 9 AM, PT) This class is made possible by sponsorship from the North American Virtual Recorder Society, an online community of recorder players. "We welcome all experience levels from emerging players to professional. Our goals are simple - to promote the recorder and to provide a safe, inclusive space for playing and having fun."
Do you need to purchase an instrument? You cannot go wrong with a good plastic recorder—they can actually sound better than a poor wooden one! Yamaha and Aulos make very good plastic sopranos. For tenors: Yamaha provides an exceptional tone, while Aulos is lighter-weight with a smaller reach. Consider purchasing an instrument from one of our business partners:
