A plus organ (manual only) This setting of 'Jesus, my confidence' (tune by Johann Crüger) is stylistically very similar to Bach's version in BWV 728. According to Hymnary.com, the hymn has appeared in over 100 different hymnals. Duration: 2:00 St. Pierre's adaptation of the chorale 'Brich an, O schönes Morgenlicht' ('Break Forth, O Beauteous Heavenly Light') is also for alto recorder and organ (manual only) and is likewise available in the ARS Libraries with play along accompaniment. -- Anthony St. Pierre
 A beautiful hymn, arranged with an ear to remaining faithful to the period and to Bach’s harmonization. The alto melody flows effortlessly, and brings out the need to brush up on good Baroque ornamental technique. The arranger uses several of Bach’s ornament symbols, that have specific executions. A listen to the performance recording will clarify, and also will encourage you to give this easy hymn a try!
