42. Galliard  This galliard is military in character. The first and last of the three sections make use of clearly outlined chords in a fanfare-like way whilst the middle section has a stepwise and lyrical quality. Note the obvious hemiolas in the anti-penultimate and penultimate measures of all three sections.
