Tuesdays 7/12, 7/19, 7/26, 8/2 at 4 PM, CDT

Do you struggle to control your tone? Do you wish your sound was richer, more resonant, and more alive?

Tone is the heart and soul of the recorder, yet we seldom set aside time to focus on it. In this four-week, small-group, live Zoom short course, we’ll demystify the ingredients of good tone, addressing specific issues as they arise within the group and supporting one another through a targeted, progressive exercise program designed to help you make concrete progress.

Upon purchase, you’ll receive a link to download a pdf “ticket” that includes live Zoom links for all four sessions.

The cost of the course is $89, which includes all four live sessions, weekly tone exercise programs, and group chat support as needed for the duration of the course.

Register here!

If you have questions or you prefer to pay offline, please contact me at anne@annetimberlake.com

Should the participant limit be met, registration will close.

3 Opportunities:

Tuesday, July 12 at 7 PM, CDT Wednesday, July 13 at 10 AM, CDT Friday, July 15 at 7 PM, CDT

Different tunes will be played at each session.

Each participant will receive a copy of our “Ukrainian Fiddle Tunes for Two” book, arranged for the instrument of their choice. Just as in all of the collections in the Tunes for Two series these books contain the same tunes in the same keys making it easy for you to play with a friend playing another instrument.

This collection includes marches, patriotic songs, polkas, waltzes, etc. These melodies will make you cry, and make you dance. You have been warned!

During the Workshop we will read, play, and discuss various survival skills for these kinds of pieces. A treble clef version of the sheet music for the tunes being played will be displayed on Zoom's screen during the workshop.

There is limited enrollment, and pre-registration is required. The fee for each “Ukrainian Tunes for Two” workshop is $25

Vancouver Bach Festival
July 26-August 6, 2022
Scottish Baroque & Other Traditions

This year's Bach Festival explores new territory by fusing Scottish traditional music with Baroque masters. It is well known that J.S.
Bach employed instrumentalists for his church performances who often also played in taverns. We also know that Baroque dance-forms, such as the gavotte and gigue (jig), were born in country dances which were reimagined by composers of the time for courtly circles. Hear how traditional melodies weave throughout the concerts at a variety of locations ranging from a cathedral to traditional concert halls, from a botanic garden to a Celtic pub with musicians from as far afield as Glasgow, New York, Montreal and Portland as well as many from closer to home. Meet the 2022 Artists-In-Residence David Greenberg (Canada/USA) & David McGuinness (Scotland). Events include:

FROM THE COURT OF LOUIS XIV TO SHIPPAGAN Tuesday, August 2, 2022 | 1 p.m.
Christ Church Cathedral
Suzie LeBlanc, soprano; Vincent Lauzer, recorder; Marie Nadeau-Tremblay, violin; Sylvain Bergeron, theorbo
