The Carolina Mountains Recorder Society is proud to announce that Jody Miller, professional recorder teacher and player, will visit Western NC three weekends, June 4-5, August 6-7, and October 1-2. Mark your calendars now and take advantage of these opportunities. CMRS is the recipient of the American Recorder Society’s “Traveling Teacher Grant.” The grant will help us afford the three weekends of multi layered learning. Jody is based in the Atlanta area and has over 20 years of diverse teaching experience. Jody is an effective teacher in workshop, small group, and private settings. All three will be available each weekend. Learn more about Jody Miller at fippleflute.com.
FROM MR. MILLER: About the CMRS Workshop Sessions, Saturdays 1-3pm Eastern.
Music of Thrones: Soundtrack of the Renaissance Count. Imagine a time when the nobility supported the arts though their own study, performance, and admiration of music! Composers were frequently employed at the court and were held in high esteem. Through a series of three mini-workshops, we’ll look at music from courts in Italy, Germany, and England and experience the same music that was originally performed in the presence of those who helped these composers thrive.
You are welcome to attend one workshop session or all three. Jody will also be available each Saturday and Sunday for private lessons and small group coaching. He charges $60 per hour. To arrange a lesson with him contact Mr. Miller at email@example.com. This is a great opportunity to study with a highly respected professional without traveling ourselves.
Please attend the session in person if you are Covid comfortable. It would be lovely to have a large gathering. The meeting will be in the Clubhouse at Carolina Village, Hendersonville, NC. You can join us via Zoom if not in person. To be placed on the In-Person or Zoom list, please reply or contact Sharen Hafner at firstname.lastname@example.org.
