American Recorder Society - Event Information

Event Name:Denver Recorder Society meeting led by Lisette Kielson
Event Type(s):Online Event
Description:Professional recorder player Lisette Kielson will lead the Denver chapter monthly meeting on Zoom, preceded by the chapter's "newbies" session for less-experienced players. All are welcome to attend. In three distinct yet interconnected storytelling sessions, Kielson will lead a brief warm-up of extended techniques, where each player's narrative (muted or unmuted) may be restrained or mysteriously thrilling in a call-and-response free improvisation segment (for all recorder-playing levels). After the foray into this new language, in a master class format Kielson will guide participants in shaping their individual musical tale. The denouement has the group playing wonderful character pieces composed by Lance Eccles and Glen Shannon (intermediate to advanced recorder players). Master class participants of all levels are welcome; those who want to play (and be heard) during the master class or improv session, please contact Kielson directly at lisettekielson@gmail.com for guidelines to Zoom settings.
