American Recorder Society - Event Information

Event Name:Spring Workshop with Glen Shannon
Event Type(s):Workshop
Description:All day workshop with Glen Shannon
Topic “Fugues: Flourishing under Oppression”
Glen will show the creative possibilities of composition, while adhering to the strict rules of fugues, which are his favorite type of music. He would distribute a handout that breaks fugues down into their obligatory as well as optional components, and we’d play excerpts to illustrate those components, the underlying compositional techniques employed, etc., as well as lots of complete fugues by Glen Shannon, Bach, Berlioz, Brahms, Vivaldi and Handel.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to share music with a renowned performer and composer, on a rare visit to the North East all the way from California.
