A Workshop for Baroque Ensembles with Kleine Kammermusik
"Say What? Reading Music, Conveying Meaning"
A workshop for baroque ensembles focused on the language of baroque musical expression. How do we “speak” and respond in music? How do we use tools such as tempo, dynamics, and articulation to create and communicate musical phrases? Members of the baroque chamber ensemble Kleine Kammermusik share their approach to expressive performance. Sessions include an introduction to eloquence and rhetoric in the baroque era followed by three coaching sessions for ensembles of three-five members.
Recorders, flutes, oboes, violins, violas, harpsichords, cellos, violas da gamba, lutes…. Advanced and upper intermediate players of all stripes are welcome.
