Description:If you are, or know, an artistic student in grades 3 through 8 then this is a great opportunity!

The contest is open to students in Grades 3-8 and the artist must show the recorder (the musical instrument) in some way. The winning entry will be featured on the Fall 2018 issue of American Recorder Magazine. See ARS website:

Details:Contest Rules:
• Any student in grades 3 - 8 may enter the contest one time only per year. • Each entry must be the work of one student. No collaborative entries allowed. • The subject may be anything but must show a recorder(s) (as in the musical instrument) in some way. • If hands are shown, the left hand should be at the top of the recorder. Entries with incorrect hand position will be disqualified. • Please note that we are not able to consider copied, traced, or copyrighted characters or pictures. Teachers: Please discuss this with your students. • Any 2-dimensional medium, such as ink, watercolors, crayons, or markers may be used. [No lead or colored pencils, please.] • Computer art is acceptable if the work is completely original. • Artwork must be in vertical format and should fill an 8.5”x11” paper. • Only original artwork will be considered (no photocopies or photographs).
