Anne Timberlake Workshop
"Beauty and the Breath"
Join us in this supportive, joyful, one day workshop where Anne Timberlake will teach the secrets to successful recorder articulation and breathing. In addtion, with her helpful guidance we will apply these techniques as we play a variety of repertoire.
9:00am to 4:00pm
Music Academy of North Carolina 1327 Beaman Place Greensboro, NC 27408
We are honored Anne Timberlake has agreed to teach this day long workshop since both her teaching and performance schedules are quite busy! Anne has appeared across the United States performing repertoire from Bach to twenty-first century premiers to Celtic music. She holds degrees in recorder performance from Oberlin Conservatory, where she studied with Alison Melville, and Indiana University, where she studied with Eva Legene and won the 2007 Early Music Institute Concerto Competition. Critics have praised her "fine techniques and stylishness," "unexpectedly rich lyricism," and "dazzling playing." Students of her workshops say "Anne's one class is the reason I attended this workshop; she was excellent," "implementing what she taught was easy because of how clearly she presented the material," and "the best recorder class I've ever taken."
