Recorder Society of Long Island Spring Weekend Workshop 2017

Level: Advanced – All players must play, and bring, at least SATB and play “Alto up”.
A well-matched group is a priority for this workshop.
Location: Setauket, NY
Workshop Description: This is a two day workshop, with classes taking place during the day. The workshop is limited to 16 players only, to ensure attention both to details and to the individual players in smaller ensembles. Acceptance is subject to placement in a well-matched group.
Classes may include technique, consort playing, masterclass, recorder choir - in short, everything you want from a recorder workshop! Requests for specific topics will be considered (eg. recorder care, ornamentation, repertoire etc). For players of Prescott renaissance recorders, we may offer a special class featuring those instruments, depending on enrollment.
During the final afternoon, Gwyn will lead a special “All-Telemann” session, celebrating his contribution to music on the 250th anniversary of his death.

This is a “commuter” workshop, with classes beginning around 10am and ending around 5pm. Out-of-town participants may stay in local hotels, or request housing with chapter members.
Bring your own lunch, together with your instruments, a music stand, a pencil and something for Happy Hour.
Coffee & snacks will be provided. Happy Hour on Saturday at 5pm!
