DESCRIPTION:NAVRS Playing Meeting with Lewis Baratz: From Homophony to Polyphony & Beyond: A Sampling of Styles, 1578 to 2026\n\n08/22/26 02:00 PM EST\n - 08/22/26 03:30 PM EST\Description:\nThis playing session explores the development of harmony and counterpoint from the late Renaissance to the present day. We'll play dance music by 16th-century composers Giorgio Mainerio, Pierre Attaingnant, Gaumi, and Cabezon, then jump 200 years ahead to a trio sonata for three alto recorders by Johann Mattheson. We'll conclude the session with a new piece for ATTB by composer and wind player Owen G. Davitt.\Details:\nThis is a NAVRS members only event.
